When is the right time to clean the pool?

It is recommended to thoroughly clean the pool every few months, depending on the frequency of use. Fats and various bacteria accumulate on the surfaces, disrupting the water balance and exposing you to harmful microbes. They also reduce the effectiveness of the jets, making the massage ineffective.

In the event that the water emits strange odors, clean the pool immediately, as the odor may be related to algae and bacteria. Also clean the pool thoroughly if it has not been used for a long time. Bacteria build up even faster in stagnant water. Help yourself with cleaning with products for cleaning the massage pool, which you can find in our offer.

Cleaning nozzles

The reasons why the massage pool nozzles do not work properly can be the following:

  • Grease - Human skin oils, creams and soaps can clog nozzles and reduce their performance.
  • Limescale - Formed by the alkalinity of the water, which can be the result of grease and other impurities.
  • Other impurities - These accumulate due to poor filter performance and the introduction of dirt from the environment.
Turn off the spa before cleaning the nozzles. The nozzles can be easily removed from the pool by unscrewing them counterclockwise.

The first cleaning method is to mix water with alcoholic vinegar and immerse the nozzles in it. Take the nozzles out after a few hours. The vinegar will remove scale from inside the nozzle. Take a small brush and manually clean any remaining limescale that may not have come off while soaking. You can also clean the nozzles with spa cleaner. First, clean the base of the nozzle. If the nozzle still does not turn, immerse it in a cleaner designed to remove limescale. Then rinse the nozzle well with water. Insert and screw the nozzle back into the spa.

Cleaning the massage pool filters

Clean more often filter, because effective filtration and consistent cleaning is the key to flawless water. Rinse the filter well at least once every two weeks.

Also, before cleaning the filters, turn off the pool and disconnect it from the power supply. Never turn on the pool without a filter as this can lead to clogged pipes and water contamination. The filtration systems of massage pools are different, but the principles of cleaning do not differ much. Basically, the filtration system consists of three components:

  • Filter cover or protective filter mesh,
  • Filter basket or filter mesh and
  • Cartridge filters.
Check the manual or the manufacturer's instructions for the exact composition of the filtration system. Disassemble the components, i.e. remove the cover and pull out the basket or mesh with the filter. Clean all parts with running water. Use a strong jet of water to clean the filter and rinse it. Also, before soaking in the cleaner, rinse it well with water first. The container in which you submerge the filter should be deep enough to submerge the filter completely. Allow to soak according to the cleaner manufacturer's instructions, then rinse with water. If the filter is heavily soiled, discolored or damaged, discard it and replace it with a new one. Reassemble all parts into place.

Cleaning the sides of the massage pool

To make your hot tub a true oasis of peace, not only to look, but also to feel, wash the outer sides of the massage pool every now and then.

Clean the sides with non-abrasive agents or soapy water and a soft sponge. The sides of the massage pool can be damaged by using rough cleaning agents and tools, and such damage is not covered by the warranty.

Cleaning the pads on the massage pool

The comfort of using your massage pool is also ensured by the addition of cushions on the headboard, where you rest your head and escape from reality with your thoughts.

Follow these tips for maintaining and cleaning your pads:

  • Before using the pool for the first time, fill the pool first and adjust the chemical composition of the water. Wait a good hour for all fumes of disinfectants to be removed. Only then insert the pads into their places.
  • We also recommend that you remove them before each disinfection.
  • Keep the water level below the pads to minimize the impact of disinfectants. This will extend their lifespan.
  • When removing the pads, never pull them vertically away from the spa, as this can damage them.
  • Also, clean the pads with mild products and accessories to prevent damage.
  • Check regularly that the PVC coating of the pads is not damaged. Any crack can cause water to seep into the foam, where bacteria begin to accumulate.
  • If you are not going to use the massage pool for a long time, we suggest that you store the cushions in a clean and dry place and make sure that they are completely dry before putting them away.
